Color Slides of Photos at San Cobble Raceway
/We would like to say a big “Thank you” to friend Gordie Strongman for contributing these 11 color slides of photos he took mostly at San Cobble Raceway on the old Bamberton Cement Rd in Cobble Hill. This strip was run by the Quartermilers Car Club. A few are from Van Isle Dragways as well. Thank you Gordie for the generous contribution to our “Nostalgia” section on our website and also for allowing me to keep the slides!

Van Isle Dragways Color Kodaks
/So I am at the Vette show today and I ran into friend Bruce Bell. He was hoping he would see me as he told me he had something for me from Van Isle Dragways. Of course my heart skipped a beat and he pulls out this plastic holder that had two color kodaks taken of him in his 1971 Charger RT leaving the line at Van Isle as well as two of his time slips and then tells me I can have these. Thought it was cool as well as friend John Dutton's Photography business address was on the back of the slips. John of course was the Van Isle Dragways strip photographer. Photos were taken in July 1971 by a friend of Bruce's. I would like to again express my sincere thanks to Bruce for thinking of me and also say a huge Thank you in general to all who have entrusted me with your material! It is beyond gratefully appreciated
Northwest Deuce Days 2019
/If you were registered for, or in attendance at, the event in 2016
you would have possibly read or heard that Al Clark was stepping
down as the organizer of the event and that, as such, the future of
the event was in limbo.
Despite this, the good news is that Al and his crew will be doing it
again in 2019 (July 18-21) so you can look forward to another
great event.

Color Kodaks at Van Isle Dragways
/I wanted to say a big "Thank you" to friend Sue Strongman for mailing me these two awesome color kodaks she took at Van Isle Dragways when she worked on the return lane handing out times. The one shot shows John Petrie's Challenger in the pits with maybe John himself standing beside it? This shot was taken from the Van Isle tower. The other shot shows the Dodge Dart "Bad Behaviour" being towed on its trailer up the strip! Thanks again Sue for thinking of me and sending these two great pieces of awesome nostalgia from Van Isle!
