Knowing that you are all chomping on the bit, we have decided to have a ROD RUN. Yes, you read right! We thought it would be fun to get everybody together under strict regulations to assist you in getting your rocks off.
On June 4th, we will be doing a Rod Run through the towns of Ladysmith and Chemainus. Start time is 6:00 p.m. at the Ladysmith A&W, 12615B Trans Canada Highway, Ladysmith, B.C. V9G 1M5.
Be sure to check out all the Rules and Information on the website.
Memorial Tribute Cruise-in for Bruce Lorimer. It was heartwarming to see such an incredible turnout to honour such a fine gentleman. It was wonderful to see so many friends turnout to pay their respects to Bruce. While it could have been a somber occasion, I was in my glory, being among friends and taking photos of classic cars ♥
A little exhaust work done on a 27 Ford at 2 Old Farts Garage.
Hung out for a bit today in Nanaimo to socialize a bit and distribute some of our new decals.
Check out the rest of the pics here.
Bruce Aitken Lorimer lost his battle to Lewy Body Dementia on May 5, 2020 at The Cowichan Lodge, his home for the last 2 years.
We have heard that at the moment there is NO Cruisin the Dub at the Ladysmith A&W. They are actually hoping for no cars to show up as they are doing curbside delivery for their orders and need the space in the parking lot. Hopefully this changes before to long and we can once again enjoy getting together on Thursday evenings.
We were very saddened to learn that friend Bruce Lorimer passed away early Tuesday morning May 5th 2020. Bruce raced his 1955 Chevy "Casper" at Van Isle Dragways back in the day as well as other cars he owned at San Cobble Raceway in Cobble Hill. Bruce was a great friend to many people and was very well known and respected. We would like to extend our sincere condolences to his wife Robbie, his daughters Shelly and Tracy, son Bruce Jr. and to the extended Lorimer family. Bruce will be greatly missed by everyone in the Cruising/Drag racing community. RIP Bruce ♥.
We are happy to announce that we have a new Gold Sponsor for 2020. Dave and Jim from 2 Old Farts Garage have stepped up with support for our site. Dave and Jim are old school car guys, and are as passionate about cars as you are. So if you need to take you ride somewhere where it will not only get the attention it deserves, but the respect and admiration as well, be sure to go see the guys at 2 Old Farts Garage.
We recently heard about VI Cruiser Bill Burnette’s grandson “Cade” who lives in Campbell River and wanted all his daycare friends to join him for his 4th Birthday Party this month. Then this Covid Pandemic created a shutdown of all Happy Birthday gatherings. However, that doesn’t stop us VI Cruise Cultists, living in the general area of mid to northern island, from getting out in our rides to bring smiles to a 4 year old who is Car Crazy. There are over 9 vehicles locally that have already committed to “Birthday Honking Cade.” Maybe some of you would enjoy a drive from points north or south or within Campbell River in your special ride and get a smile on while making Cade’s birthday wish come true.
If the above socially responsible activity is of interest to you, then here’s all the SCOOP!.......

We know it’s a long drive but they will very much welcome any of the mid-islanders who would like to come along for a day out and provide a Big Birthday boost to young Cade’s day in this special circumstance that will become a life memory for him. If you know anyone that would like to share in this activity, please share this note. Keep on Cruisin & Stay Safe! Art
