Jimmy just sent me these shots of this beautiful 1969 Chevelle SS 396. This car has been sitting in a garage for 40 yrs, this a real deal true 69 Chevelle SS 396, 3spd auto PS, PB, PWR Windows. They are doing a bunch of work to it in the "Old Farts Garage".
It is with deep regret, We must announce the sudden passing of friend Laurie Russell on Monday morning. Laurie has been a Smokin Oldies Car Club member for 15 years and will be greatly missed. These are a few of many shots I have of Laurie with his beloved 1967 Chevelle. He also came to a few of our Wednesday Car Socials at Sears last summer in his 36. My thoughts and deepest condolences go out to Sandy and family. RIP friend!
Adele is reaching the end of her life's journey very quickly and when asked if there were any things she'd like to do while she's still here, she replied " she would love to go for a ride in a hot muscle car". Feel the rumble, hear the throaty growl, listening to classic rock! It's a dream come true for her - we're making it happen and want YOU to join us to make this event even MORE SPECIAL. ...and there's a BONUS! We're also going to make the day special for a young boy, Kayden, who's father is dying of cancer and this is likely their last birthday together. (see the event "Josh's son Kayden's birthday")
Find all the details here (The Ride of a Lifetime).
Adam Webb contected us about this truck. If you like, you can contact him at awebb@sentinelsolar.com
I have a good friend in Ontario that builds hot rods as a hobby and is out of space for his new build and needs his truck out of the way. He is keeping the motor as he finds 800 hp a little much for most people looking for a weekend driver, but everything else is included. He has built some amazing machines of the years, and this one is no different. He bought a 47 Ford and proceeded to take the body and the VIN number off the truck and recycled / donated the rest.
He hand built a custom chassis for it where he has hidden all the brake lines, coolant lines, fuel lines etc. Every inch of the truck is brand new other than the body ( which he chopped by 2.5” ). I know he has well over $100,000 invested in the truck, and that is with him doing all the work himself.
He is asking $40,000 for the truck ( minus the motor ). The transmission stays with the truck.

The shirts are in. The preferred method of payment is etransfer to lyndon@sayler.ca . But Cash on the day of pick up works too. If you would like to arrange a pick up time in Nanaimo, contact Lyndon @ admin@vihr.ca.
A trip down to Duncan for the Cowichan boys could probably happen a following week end. Stay tuned.
We are not interested in getting in to the mail order business, so pick up in person would be preferred. I’m sure we could arrange to have a batch taken south to Victoria or North if there is interest.
