Crown Isle Resort Cruise

Thank you to Ross for forwarding me this email that was sent out by Crown Isle recognizing the amazing turnout for last weekend's cruise. Ross is responsible for organizing the annual car show at Crown Isle but due to the pandemic this year's show had to be altered. He did an amazing job organizing the cruise. And Lyndon and I are very flattered that Crown Isle included the link to our album on vihr.ca as part of their message. Thank you for the recognition! :) ♥

Thank you for a fantastic
3rd Annual Romeo St. Jacques Memorial!

What a turnout! Last Saturday, July 25th, we welcomed 250+ cars to the streets of Crown Isle for an epic cruise around the Comox Valley. A wide selection of vintage cars and trucks (plus a few newer models) lined up down Crown Isle Drive on a bluebird summer day for the cruise. It was amazing to see the community turn out all along the route to cheer the cars on. We at Crown Isle want to thank all our participants for taking part in this fun event.

In the charitable tradition of the Romeo St. Jacques Memorial, we collected donations online and in person to benefit the Comox Valley Child Development Association. Over $900 has been raised so far, and there is still an opportunity to donate if you are able.

We are currently compiling a video edit of all the livestreams we did - stay tuned for the highlights. For some fantastic photos from the day, check out Vancouver Island Hot Rods Flickr album.

2 Old Farts Garage Endorsement

Dan

I must apologize for the late thank you for referring me to Jim and Dave.  They were incredible working on my 57 Safari wagon.  What was to be just a cam swap turned out to be a much needed engine rebuild and they were committed to making sure it was done right and without a crazy price tag.

I was going through some difficult health issues at the time and had to leave the entire process in their hands and they took all the angst out of the situation and had the car ready for me to bring home Christmas eve.

It is very difficult to hand over a car I've been doing the majority of the work on for 40 years to someone else and the reservations I had disappeared quickly once I'd met them and talked to them. Two of the nicest people we've met since we moved to the Island. But it was hard leaving the wagon in someone else's garage, it's been our baby since 1980, we tow our vintage Airstream trailer we've restored with it, and it truly has been a part of our lives for most of our adult lives.

They are very caring people, we're really impressed with not just the work they do but the way they treated both my wife Donna and I.  Just nice guys, they do what they say they will, they don't make assumptions, they are the kind of people you just feel have been your friends from the moment you meet them.

You did a very good thing for us when you suggested we talk to them about having the car repaired.  Thank you!

2 Old Farts Garage - 1948 Merc

Jim and Dave are working on a 1948 Merc, They are getting it going after several years of sit.ting without running. They are doing a bunch of work to it actually. They fired it up and it runs unbelievable!, Purrs like a kitten. Just waiting for a new fuel tank for her and doing brake work as well as some other odds and ends. This car is in stellar shape! She's a real gem!.
